High Transmittance Fused Quartz Glass
What is Quartz Glass
Quartz glass is a special technical glass with a single component of silica. The hardness of this glass can be up to Moh's VII, with high temperature resistance, low coefficient of expansion, thermal shock resistance, chemical stability and good electrical insulation properties, and can transmit ultraviolet and infrared rays. In addition to hydrofluoric acid and hot phosphoric acid, it has good acid resistance to general acids. According to transparency, it is divided into two categories: transparent and opaque. Divided into three categories according to purity: high purity, common and doped. With crystal, silica, silicide as raw materials, high temperature melting or chemical vapour deposition. Melting methods include electrofusion, gas refining, etc.
Dominance
1. High temperature resistance. The softening point temperature of quartz glass is about 1730℃, which can be used for a long time at 1150℃, and the maximum temperature for a short time can reach 1450℃.
2. Corrosion resistance. In addition to hydrofluoric acid, high-purity quartz almost no chemical reaction with other acids, at high temperatures, it can resist sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, aqua regia, neutral salts, carbon and sulfur and other erosion. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics, 150 times that of stainless steel, especially the chemical stability at high temperatures, is incomparable to any other engineering materials.
3. Good thermal stability. The coefficient of thermal expansion of high purity quartz is extremely small, can withstand intense temperature changes, the high purity quartz heated to about 1100 ℃, into the room temperature water will not blow up.
4. Good light transmission performance. High-purity quartz in the ultraviolet to infrared light throughout the spectral band have good light transmission properties, visible light transmission rate of more than 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectral region, ~ large transmittance of up to 80% or more.
5. Good electrical insulation properties. The resistance value of high purity quartz is equivalent to 10,000 times that of ordinary quartz glass, which is an excellent electrical insulating material, even at high temperatures also has good electrical properties.

Application
Electronic field: Quartz rings can be used to manufacture transistors, integrated circuits, oscillators and other electronic components, electronic clocks, timers and other precision instruments.
Optical field: Quartz ring can be used in the manufacture of optical instruments, optical devices, optical lenses and so on. In addition, quartz rings can also be used to manufacture lasers, optical fibres and other optical devices.
Chemical industry: Quartz rings can be used to manufacture chemical reactors, catalyst carriers, filters and other chemical equipment. In addition, quartz rings can be used to manufacture high-purity chemical reagents, pharmaceutical raw materials, etc. Its high purity and stability make these chemicals have very high quality and purity.
Medical field: Quartz rings can be used to manufacture medical devices, medical equipment, medical glass and so on. Quartz rings have excellent properties such as high transparency, high heat resistance, and high corrosion resistance, making them able to withstand a variety of disinfection, sterilisation and other medical environments. In addition, quartz rings can also be used to manufacture artificial crystals, artificial bone and other medical materials.
Instructions for Use
1. Quartz glass products are valuable materials and must be handled gently and with great care when in use.
2. All kinds of quartz glass have a maximum use temperature, the use should not exceed this temperature, otherwise it will precipitate crystal or soften and deform.
3. Quartz glass to be used at high temperature must be wiped clean before use. It can be soaked with 10% hydrofluoric acid or washing solution, and then cleaned with high purity water or treated with alcohol. Fine wire gloves should be worn during operation, and it is not allowed to touch the quartz glass directly with hands.
4. Continuous use of quartz glass products is permitted at high temperatures, which is beneficial to prolonging the life of quartz glass and improving temperature resistance. On the contrary, intermittent use of quartz glass products at high temperatures is limited.
5. Although the quartz glass material has extremely high thermal stability and can withstand drastic temperature fluctuations. However, in practice, due to the residual strain and the shape of the product is different, there is a certain difference in thermal stability, the use of attention should be paid.
6. Quartz glass is an acidic material, high temperature use strictly avoid contact with alkaline substances (such as water glass, asbestos, potassium and sodium compounds, etc.), otherwise it will greatly reduce its anti-crystallisation properties .
